DWINDLED DISTANCES

From the yellowing pages
Remnants of the past
Buried in memories
Another time and place,
Eyes peeped from behind
Frazzled, frayed edges
Twinkling at me,
And the thoughts interlace.

Eyes that see through
The smiles that hide
Painted upon my heart
The shades of umbrae,
Wiped from time
It’s yesterday once more
As friends we meet again
And the years fall away....

Friendships flower in His Grace.
