OF YESTERDAY AND TOMORROW…

As I walk upon the
shores of time
I feel the warmth
of the sun kissed sands,
The footprints melting
where the water laps
To peaceful tunes
like Buddhist chants.

I remember, yesterday
the sand was hot,
Burning my feet
the cooling waves lost
Into the tides receding
shallow seas
My shore dry, barren
in emotional freeze.

I wonder what
tomorrow might bring,
A drift that fills
the puddles of my prints,
Or a raging swell
that threatens to drown
my shore,
Or will I walk on eiderdown?

Moments slip away
and sift through the gaps,
Of my toes, onto shores
that the water laps.
Lost forever,
where I can't find
the meanings it washes away
into eternity, devoid of time.
